Scholarship for Communities

Scheme Code   SSF106:

This scholarship will be available for disadvantaged groups’ up-lifting and encouragement in their educational pursuit. The communities having the natural deficiency or temporarily affected by the climatic disaster etc. will be helped through this scheme. The purpose of this scholarship is to keep the special students in educational stream and encouragement of the special communities. It is a step towards equal access of learning, skill development & sharing the financial liability of the special communities.

Communities have been divided into following two broad Categories:

Category A:

  1. Highly Disabled
  2. Orphans
  3. Chidren of Shuhda (upto Bacholars)
  4. Prisoners

Eligibility:

The Fresh and continuing students of AIOU belonging to aforementioned communities are eligible of having scholarship through this scheme.

Maximum Amount of Scholarship

These students can avail full fee waiver by only submitting Admission and Registration Fee.

How to Apply:

  1. You can download application form from the below link and submit your application for full fee waiver under Scholarship for Communities (SSF-106) with admission form and other required documents for admission to the Regional Director concerned.
  2. Such requests will be processed/examined by the Regional Committees for allowing full fee concession (except Registration and Admission Fee) to Blinds, Children of Shuhada upto Bachelors’ level Program and Prisoners.
  3. Requests falling under remaining categories of Scholarship for Communities Schemes (SFF-106) may be processed/allowed subject to the availability of Funds.
  4. On account of disability you will be required to attach prescribed Disability Certificate issued by any Government Hospital of the district of domicile/residence of the student.
  5. After approval of Competent Authority, list of students awarded Scholarship will be displayed on the notice board of the Regional Office.

 

Category B:

  1. Affected Areas (Earthquake, Flood etc.)
  2. IDPs
  3. Gypsies
  4. Any other

Eligibility:

The continuing students of AIOU belonging to aforementioned communities having the natural deficiency or temporarily affected by the climatic disaster etc. are eligible of having scholarship through this scheme.

Maximum Amount of Scholarship

The amount of scholarship may be equivalent or 50% of the semester tution fee subject to availability of funds.

How to Apply:

  1. You can deposit their full fee and apply for scholarship for communities by submitting scholarship form along with original challan form (student copy) and prerequisite documents to your concerned Regional Offices.
  2. You will produce the valid certificate for the grant of scholarship.
  3. The Regional ASSF Committee will verify the contents i.e. particulars of the students, income filtration, academic performance of student etc. and forward applications to Directorate of Student Advisory & Counseling Services. The decision would be made by the Regional Committee according to the availability of funds.
  4. List of students to whom scholarship recommended is made available on the notice board of the Region.
  5. Selected students will be issued cheques of their scholarship amount by Treasurer Department.

Note:

  • Regional Committee will strictly observe the eligibility criteria, allocated budget limit and budget proportion.
  • The regional committee will recommend the student for scholarship for communities with the condition that the student has not been granted any fee remission from any other scheme.
  • The student can obtain scholarship/financial support from one scheme only in the semester except “Earn to Learn”.
